Good news - The Devil's Backbone is great, and Hellboy was pretty good considering the budget. Del Toro directing a film w/Peter Jackson providing a budget and running interference could be fantastic.

I could never figure out why people didn't like Hellboy. Granted, I'd never read the comic book, but as far as comic book movies go, it certainly wasn't at the bottom of the barrell. In fact, I thought it was fairly decent.
