I find it interesting that Japanese Spiderman has a big contraption around his wrist for slinging webs. Didn't the live-action US Spiderman TV show still assume that the webs came out of his wrists, or at the least came from a well-concealed gadget? Perhaps the 70's Japanese comic fanbase wanted a better explanation, compared to their TV-dinner-eating, slovenly US counterparts.
